The community of Elounda belongs to the municipality of Agios Nikolaos and constitutes of six settlements: Plaka– where the villas are–, Tsifliki, Pano Pines, Kato Pines, Epano Elounda, Schisma and Mavrikiano. It has a population of around 2,200 and covers a surface area of about 25 sqkm.
Power supply in Greece / Crete is 220V. Sockets accept two-round pin plugs. Adaptors are readily available at any supermarket, or just ask our staff to help you out. Power cuts happen occasionally, especially in summertime, due to strained generating capacity.
Crete, like the rest of Greece, is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich time(GMT +2) and adjusts to summertime at 4am on the last Sunday in March until 4am on the last Sunday in October.
The villas are a 2 minutes’ stroll from the central beach strip and the Plaka settlement, where you can find shops, cafes and fish taverns. The centre of Elounda is within easy reach(about 4.5km).
Shop opening hours vary, but are usually from 9am– 2pm and 5– 10pm daily in summertime. Banks and post office are open Mon– Fri from 08.00– 14.00 hours.
